PAINTINGS

As most of my art is digital, I am searching for ways to give some tangibility to some of the artworks I create on the iPad. Painting artworks I have previously planned out digitally gives the work extra depth which I can’t achieve with pixels on a screen. On top of that, it helps me escape the digital world, which tends to consume such a big part of our lives.
I like to explore different textures on physical surfaces, and I’ve found that the best way to do so is to use wood as a base and build up layers from there. Most of the time, I plaster the wood with newspaper and prints; afterward, I have the perfect starting point to paint with acrylics. After that, I transfer the sketch to the board and slowly start adding color. As a final touch, I add different textures through sanding, spraying, staining, etc.
